History: Vor was the last of her father's children that his love Astlyr would bear. The young filly was born young by a month as a result stress caused by an infection growing in the womb. The stress of giving birth worsened Astlyr's condition. The mare, weak, grew even weaker at the sight of the child with a third eye, Vor. Too ashamed to return to Veguard with a monster, the mare gathered the last of her strength and left the filly abandoned; however, Astlyr would never return to Veguard. The infection caused the new mother to hallucinate and lose her way back to the herd. Only her bones would be found months later...
Veguard had another mare pregnant that came to the birthing lands a few hours later to deliver her own children, Tjasse and Om. On the return home, Lofn noticed a tiny bundle hidden away in the shrubs, Vor. The mare knew the child was that of Veguard; the filly had his eyes, his rich chocolate coat, slender build, and fine face--a spitting image really. She too noticed the third eye in between the filly's normal eyes. Filled with sympathy for the sickly filly, Lofn decided to stay with her so she would not die alone. Tjasse and Om nestled next to their half-sister while their waited for the filly to die.
When morning came, the filly was still alive. Lofn realized she had much inner strength in those bones, just like her sire. Convincing herself that this was sign, she took all three back to Veguard's lands with intention of raising the filly.
Veguard was elated to learn he had two new sons, but his joys did not last long when he learned that his eldest mare and his only love, Astlyr, did not return. Lofn presented the lovechild, now named Vor, to him. The stallion was as much disgusted as Astlyr had been with the filly's extra eye. The filly was a monstrosity, a freak, and a laughing stock! He could not bring himself to destroy the child. This was the last child of Astlyr; though he knew in his heart his love would have wanted the child destroyed. Vor was insult to their legacy with the eye.
But his love was twisted. Veguard ordered his mares, Diss, Ragnild, and Lofn to take turns nursing the poor filly, but under no circumstance were they to consider the child their own. She was kept separate from Veguard's other children, except at night when she was permitted to stay with them for protection. Even at night, most of the herd would wearily watch the monster with the exception of Om and Tjasse. As a result of lack of socialization and having one single mother, Vor became inwardly shy and loathing of her spiderset. The filly would watch at a distance as her father's children would play while she stood in the shadows. Many times she caught Om and Tjasse gazing at her with sorrow in their eyes. The twins watch sadly as day by day she began to wander farther away from the herd.
Eventually Tjasse stopped looking for Vor at night. Om was resigned to the duty of fetching their half-sister each night.
By the time of their first birthday, Om was Vor's only social contact. Tjasse had long since accepted their half-sister's fate as a disgrace for her looks.
As they grew older, Om felt Vor growing apart. The colt would go days without seeing her. She became impossible to track. He knew that on the few days he saw her, they were only because she wished to be seen. Om was hating her for giving into the monster label. Too often, their conversations ended with violent, heated words that stung like venom in their hearts. Indeed, their last conversation left both parties with a deep scar that divided their hearts in two.
Vor found no need to stay with the herd after their last conversation. She wandered off, not knowing where she heading. Somehow, no one will ever quite know, she became a deity at the tender age of two.
This of course, occurred some years ago...
How long ago?
Vor does not know. As an immortal, time can slip by without her knowing...
