The Inside - - -
Positive Characteristics: Loyal, protective, determined, intelligent, perceptive, creative Negative Characteristics: Cold, haughty, vain, aloof, vindictive, cruel, merciless, ruthless, stubborn, closed-minded (particularly in regards to other factions) Likes: The Pure; herself; attractive horses; temperate weather; control; thought puzzles; she also has an unadmitted fascination with human architecture Dislikes: The other factions, the Common particularly; the cold (for its tendency to get everywhere it shouldn't); sand; surprises; losing control, both of herself and those around her; attempts to "understand" her or her motives (as far as she is concerned, if her motivations are not readily apparent then she'll not waste the time to explain it to the inferior mind) Goals: One she shares with her fellow Pure, Aeon would like nothing more than to see the other factions eradicated. Fears: Though she would never admit it, Aeon does find mutations to be quite unnerving and "gifts" even more so, because the latter are far more easily hid. The Dead, too, frighten Aeon, though again she refuses to give any sign of it, for the idea of another being needing to feed on her lifeblood to "live" again is enough to frighten any sane creature.
The Past - - -
Family: Her mother, Nona, is the only family she still acknowledges, though they have not spoken for nearly two years. She refused to speak her father's name again after it was revealed that he possessed one of the Moorwater's gifts, although she thankfully was spared the mutation herself. She also had a sister for a time, but her sister also proved to share her father's monstrous nature and her name has since been stricken from Aeon's vocabulary. History: Aeon was born among the Pure, though they had not yet adopted a name or gained the momentum to be recognized as a faction among the Moor's populace. At the time of her birth, the Pure were simply a small band of horses, ranks slowly swelling as more horses grew disgusted with their monstrous, mutated kin. Raised under the philosophy that her lack of power was an indication of a return to elder days that made her superior to the mutated and lifeless equines that shared the world, Aeon soon came to believe her herd's words.
At the tender age of one, Aeon encountered the Moorwater's magic for the first time--and found it was much closer to home than she had expected. Her father had left the morning prior, taking her three-month-old sister with him to explore the nearby lands. It was assumed by the herd that this was to help familiarize the filly with the herd's lands and ensure that she would never be without resources, for the tiny faction valued all lives in its crusade against Moorwater. When they did not return that evening, as expected, Aeon became worried for her family. When the morning's light showed that the pair still hadn't returned, Aeon rose quickly with all the brashness of youth and set off to find them.
She did locate them quickly and with little trouble, for she found them in one of her father's hideaways, the same places he had shared with her as a child. This was of no immediate concern to her, but the blood marring her father's hide was. But even as she rushed forward to offer her help, she noticed that the wound was slowly but surely shrinking. Her horror gave way to rage and betrayal, a stark contrast to her father's look of resignation and her sister's confusion. Cutting off the stallion's chances to explain, Aeon told him to leave. Her sister offered a second betrayal for the morning, naively asking why there was so much concern when she could do the same.
Aeon ordered both to leave, traitors to their kind that they were. In a strange kindness--a last vestige of loyalty to her father--she told them that the herd would never know of this, that she would say she never found them or the bodies. But if the two were to return, she would not keep their secret.
True to her word, Aeon never spoke a word of her father's true nature, nor of her sister's misfortune to have inherited it. The event stripped her of much of her naivete, though, and served to solidify her hatred of the Moorwater and the fools that accepted its so-called gifts.
For the past four years, Aeon has remained loyal to the cause of the Pure, advancing it by whatever means she sees fit, no matter how it might be perceived by others. Always convinced that the "ends justify the means" and that any world without the mutations was a better one, Aeon truly believes her actions serve a greater good. Of course, this greater good is best achieved with her at the helm--for no one knows better than her just what is required to cleanse the land and no one else has the courage to do what is necessary.
