Plotting, plotting! =D

Anyway, I'm looking for folks who'd be interested in taking part in a character arc I've been cooking up for Aeon. (Or at least offer some ideas on where they think I should improve it.)

Basically, Aeon is about as hardcore a racist (or maybe speciesist) character as you can find. She absolutely hates the Dead, the mutated, and the gifted, all of whom she considers abominations, and considers those who accept them to be little better. She's not a nice person and would love the opportunity to remove them from the face of the earth.

The plot I'm looking for is something to challenge her views (I won't say change them because it depends a lot on how it turns out!). I think this would be easiest to achieve with someone who doesn't actually look like they're mutated or dead, since Aeon would be quite cruel and rude to anyone she can easly identify. That isn't to say that it's imposible for one of the aforementioned to manage it, but I have a hard time imagining why they would want to spend time around someone so hateful.

For some reason, my mind immediately jumped to some sort of romance plot, but friendship would work too. The only reason I thought of romance immediately is it would give her more reason to question her beliefs, I guess--it'd be far more earth-shatteringto realize her lover/soulmate/whatever was dead or mutated than just a friend.

An enemy could also work, I think, because Aeon does have a certain respect for people who stand up to her. While she may not be physically imposing, Aeon is smart and cunning enough that she can usually outmaneuver and best those who would oppose her (to the degree that many among her herd just defer to her on their own). This has led her to kind of expect the behavior, so anyone who can stand up to her and put up a good fight for it (and I'm not averse to letting people win, of course! ;D) will get something approaching respect, but she probably won't ever like them.

Aside from that, I'm up for any sort of plotting with anyone! If you're looking for an antagonizing character, Aeon's your lady!

I think Aeon and Dominik could have some wicked plots together xD Like her, Dom hates every last mutated/gifted/dead horse. He has had offspring before but they have all been mutated so he abandoned them when they were born and has since been looking for a mare to give him pure offspring.
Dom is also a huge hypocrite xD He has negation but justifies using it because he is taking away gifts from others so he is trying to cleanse the lands. Although he would never want anyone to find out he had a gift.
So it would be interesting if Aeon and him had a romance and then later she finds out about his gift - maybe she would see his reasoning for using it or maybe she would just be horrified and disgusted?

SOLAIKE. Saevus will toats be an enemy. For both of them, really. He's mutated in looks, aaaand his personality completely betrays who he is. So it's obvious he's an undead douchebag. :3

Dominik: Oooh, that would be fun. >D I was reading his personality and I look forward to the conflict. They both seem like strong individuals who both plan on getting what they want--they'll butt heads just as much as they agree, I bet. (For some reason, I have a mental image of Cesare and Lucrezia Borgia. Sans the creepy incest angle, of course. <.<;;; [/finished AC:B for the first time not too long ago]

I was actually thinking of doing something similar for a plot. It would be interesting to see how one of the Living like Deimos might interact with her, as his mutation is iridescence and his gift is negation. One of the Pure faction might not even notice his differences, and may never see him use his gift. Also, his gift could come in handy if a Pure ever got into conflict with one of the Dead or less respectable Living or Common.

However, he's not one to push himself into someone else's life, so there might have to be some kind of reason to make him to stay around long enough to get to know someone who hates his kind. He doesn't hate the Pure, but if one confronted him, he'd prefer to leave over spending his time arguing.

So yeah, just some ideas, but even if they don't get along at first, it could be interesting for them to meet.

Like I said before, I'm up for any sort of plot! If his gifts aren't immediately obvious, Aeon is typically pretty polite, if distant. If she's not sure he's Pure, she'll be more distant, but she doesn't want to alienate any of the Pure, either. So they could possibly meet that way...

The other idea I have is that they could be forced to work together in a certain situation? Aeon isn't so high and mighty that she isn't willing to work with a mutant if it would be beneficial to her. So, like you said, since his gift is negation, maybe they could meet somewhere and he uses his powers to bail them out? She wouldn't like him after he's revealed, but Aeon also knows not to look a gift horse in the mouth (ahem).

[Deimos]

Hm, something similar to the thread in the Cathedral of Fallen Angels might work. He'd protect any faction from the Dead, although it would probably be too much of a crowd for a fourth horse to come into your thread that's already started.

Maybe they could meet somewhere that's dangerous so they'd be more inclined to stay together for a while? I'm not sure if they'd work better as lovers or allies, but we could see what happens if she meets one of the Living and doesn't find out he's an 'abomination' until she's already gotten to know him a bit.

I actually really like the idea of putting them into a situation where they have to work together, especially because that way it could be right out there in the open from the start. That way the plot would be very different from the one with Dominik and it could still be a way to show her not all mutants are beasts and abominations. It could be kind of a "respect forged in battle" sort of relationship. -shrug-

[amaranthine]

Amaranthine would be willing to try and "change" Aeon's view. She has no mutations whatsoever and her gift is regeneration, so she could keep is hidden from everyone. Amaranthine is very trustworthy, but if she gets in a spat with someone her words cut pretty deep sometime. Worth a shot no? Could be a fun twist.

The idea of them forming a mutual respect after having had to work work together seems like it could work. After that they could go their separate ways, but her view on horses with mutations may be altered, if only a little.

@amaranthine: I have no trouble with getting Aeon into more trouble! xD I may be a sadist, but I enjoy making my characters miserable.
