The Past - - -
Family: He can't really remember his parents or if he even had any siblings. History: Maddeus (or Maddie as he is affectionately called) began life normally enough. He was born, grew into a healthy colt, but by one year old he began to veer from the path of normalcy. He began displaying extreme mood swings, he would be goofing around and trying to charm the fillies one moment, and the next he would be trying to beat his playmates to near death. When questioned about his behaviour, he did not seem particularly alarmed about it or showed any remorse for his actions. After nearly killing a young foal, Maddie was driven from his herd at two years old. He proceeded to travel restlessly, never able to stay in the same place for more than a day. He was not bothered by past demons, he simply grew bored of his surroundings. It was not until he came upon Eventide Moor and tasted the Moorwater that he was able to actually 'settle down'. At first he liked the taste of the Moorwater, it made him feel strange but in a good way. That is, until his mouth started bleeding. It started one day, slowly. At first it was just the taste of iron in his mouth, but then it began to trickle down his chin. By the next day it ran thick and dark down his neck and chest, and he stumbled through Desertsea aimlessly and in agony, his frame growing skeletal from being unable to eat. Within a week his teeth had almost all fallen out, and his heartbeat was quick and strained from starvation. As the next week came it finally gave out and Maddeus died alone in the desert, his face and chest crusted in thick blood. He was dead for two days before he awoke again. At first he was disorientated, hungry for something but it wasn't food that he craved. It was a deeper hunger, something that made his very soul ache. At first he didn't realize he was dead, but when he did it did not seem to alarm him much. It wasn't until he saw the antelope that he understood what this hunger was - the hunger for life. By this time his new teeth had become to come in, and the bleeding had stopped. They were sharp as a razor's edge and plentiful. They were very handy in taking down the large antelope he selected, and perfect for ripping open the beast's still-writhing neck. As he drank, his heart quivered and then lept into a hardy gallop. His hunger was satiated, and he was alive again. It was some time before he discovered that he was something more than the rest of the population. He found he could hurt others just by willing it to happen, and when the Dead faction began forming they raised him up to a godly status. As the years passed he began to grow bored of life, so on a whim he drowned himself in a nearby river. With this he began a cycle of killing to gain life, and then committing suicide when he grew bored of it. He now wanders Eventide Moor, powerful and immortal but deadly and unpredictable.
