A heavy smokey black body tore through the underbrush of the forest. With cream colored banners thick and floating behind her, Era's icey blue eyes scanned the forest. She could see no one and her ears picked up only the drum drum drumming of her own feathered feet. Her forefathers were of draft blood so the soft hairs of her legs had grown down to form a soft feathery white curtain around all four hooves. Her maw opened as she gave a cough, jaws overextending up into her cheeks. She looked...not quiet hideious but more horrifying unless the dark was there to cover her deformity.
Now she sneezed. She had darted through a tall field of flowers to avoid a hunting group of pures and now she was having fits. She could just barely make out the happy gurgle of water above the noise of her feet. She cut off and headed for it, hoping to find it and roll around, maybe get some of the blasted pollen off her irritated hide. It would be good for hiding her scent too incase the pures had picked up on it.
Era arrived at the happy little trickle but it was muddied and the scent of a male was still fresh in the area. She couldnt tell allience and she didnt want to stick around and risk asking, so instead she bypassed the stream and darted back into the thick of the folliage. Her legs moved her quickly but carefully over the land. Opened areas were skirted around and she paused often to listen to the forest around her. The animals had a quiet chatter going and she heard nothing as far as hoovebeats went so she continued on in her quest for water.
Closer to sunset, the rich colored mare finally happened on a quaint little pond. She wasted no time in taking a quick roll in a sandy place before bathing in the water. Era finally climbed out with water in her belly and dripped, then shook herself out on a nice patch of green. A heavily canopied willow stood in the distance and she made her way under its fort of leaves and backed her rump up to the trunk, giving it a good scratch on the rough bark. Her legs ached from running and her hide wasnt near as itchy now. The fire was still in her throat but that had been part of her life for as long as she couldnt remember and it was just something she had gotten use to. She let her eyes shut as she enjoyed the simple pleasure of scratching her bum on a tree in complete solitude without having to run for a little while at least
